The Center for Patient Partnerships (CPP) seeks a lead Instructor to teach and supervise undergraduate experiential-learning courses, which are at the heart of our Community Resource Navigator Program. This includes teaching about social determinants of health and structural systems, health advocacy and social justice, identifying and securing community resources, and referring to other organizations for legal, social, and financial issues impacting health. In these courses, students learn a liberation model of service and how patients experience health and social service systems. Through supervised experiential learning shifts, students help clients address health-harming social determinants by clearing barriers to health and wellness.

In addition to our teaching, we research patients’ diverse lived experiences and enhance the capacity of patients to influence health policy and health care systems. Our model prioritizes systems change to prevent future barriers for patients and communities.
In collaboration with our faculty and community partners, this position will be responsible for developing, teaching, and supervising in, undergraduate courses comprised of a combined lecture- and experiential-learning-based curriculum, as well as coordinating outreach activities and developing partnerships specific to health-related community resources for marginalized communities.
