Your new role

Our Resilient Families program is a therapeutic, evidence-informed program providing a 9-12 month intensive, in-home support to families with at least one child aged up to 6 years. The program is focused on creating positive home environments and preventing children from entering into out-of-home-care.

You will lead a dedicated team of Child & Family Practitioners who are responsible for building trusting relationships, working on immediate family crises and overall supporting families to develop skills in the short-term, so they can take these skills into the future and become more independent. Travel will be required across South-East Sydney in order to support this client base.

Duties

  • Lead a small team of 4-5 case managers, ensuring effective delivery of services to children and families
  • Work with team members to help them understand and achieve performance expectations, build their capability, provide regular recognition, and develop and utilising talent in the team
  • Oversee the management of cases, including attending initial meetings between case managers and families
  • Evaluate the quality of the service delivery on a regular basis
  • Support the Manager with the collection of data in line with reporting requirements

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working in child protection, working with children at risk of harm, disadvantaged families and families who have experienced trauma
  • Experience in case management
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team specifically within child protection
  • People leadership experience with the ability to build and develop an engaged, high performing team
  • Comprehensive management skills including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines and conflict resolution
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to successfully influence and engage a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate IT systems, including report writing and data entry
