Background:

Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) is an Iraqi National NGO it was established in November 2007 as an independent NGO with its main office in Tikrit city. It focuses on developing the economic sector by providing business management training courses and counseling services to entrepreneurs and potential investors, enabling them to contribute to the local economy efficiently. SEDO is considered among the most effective and qualified organizations in Iraq. It has conducted economic studies on the business environment in Iraq, identifying business opportunities and market niches for potential investors in Iraq. SEDO started humanitarian intervention in Iraq to respond to the urgent need for our beneficiaries, its work in the WASH, Livelihood, protection, Food security, and Education sectors.

Job Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for leading, motivating, and supporting a team to achieve operational goals and performance targets. The role ensures high levels of productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance while fostering employee engagement, coaching team members, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate team members to achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Monitor daily performance, productivity, and quality against established KPIs.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to improve employee performance and engagement.
  • Allocate tasks and manage workloads to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and improve processes.
  • Prepare and analyze performance reports, dashboards, and team metrics.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Manage attendance, scheduling, leave requests, and workforce planning as required.
  • Handle employee concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support organizational change.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with CRM, ERP, or workforce management systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
