About the role

CatholicCare provides a comprehensive range of individual and group programs for those with a disability. We are currently seeking an Activity Leader to supervise a small team of Activity Support Partners in delivering program specific activities to NDIS Participants.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the program activity as well as provision of direct service to participants. Our day program is a warm and welcoming environment. You will be working with a supportive team who are incredibly caring and dedicated to their work.

This is a Permanent Part time position, working from 2pm to 6pm over 4 days from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

Duties

  • Lead staff and support program participants through the creative process of artwork development of high standard.
  • Work in partnership with the Area Coordinator and Rostering Coordinator to ensure that shifts are covered in a timely manner, minimising disruptions to participants and maximising cost effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement the use of different art mediums and avenues to enhance the creative expression of clients.
  • Plan for and deliver program of activities in physical and/or virtual settings as required
  • Providing feedback on client’s Person-Centred Plan
  • Provide positive support experience to participants
  • Preparation of reports including incident reports, letters of support and goal progress reports.

Essential Requirements

  • NDIS Workers Check and completed of NDIS Worker Orientations Module
  • Working with Children Check
  • Hold a valid NSW Driver’s licence and insured vehicle
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate

Desired

  • Certificate III or above in Disability or above with relevant experience
  • Experience or willingness to work with vulnerable people of all ages
  • Have experience supporting or empowering others to achieve personal outcomes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and families
  • Epilepsy Management Certificate
