The role

The embedded IoT software team is growing to support the Atlas Copco strategy to connect and optimize our installed base of equipment. We develop the software of the connectivity devices in collaboration with leading suppliers in IoT domain. The team is responsible for the embedded software development of devices that support the current and future connected strategy.

  • Lead, manage, and hire a team of ten engineers to work on the embedded software for our Internet of Things (IoT) products;
  • Responsible for hiring, performance reviews, and professional development of team members;
  • Articulate, align, and integrate architecture and roadmaps;
  • Talk to (internal) customers, understand their needs, and incorporate feedback into roadmaps. Communicate with peer teams to bring sophisticated cross-organization features to fruition;
  • Communicate technical milestones and status to the cross-functional teams, management, and customers;
  • Clearly communicate roles, expectations, work direction to all team members on a regular basis;
  • Hold team members accountable to meet aligned and accepted objectives, features, and user stories for each sprint and program increment deliverables;
  • Establish a Cybersecurity development culture;
  • Establish and manage CI/CD for embedded software, including change management;
  • Ensure best practices regarding code review, secure coding practices and source code management system are followed.

Who are you

We are looking for someone who is fascinated in leading people, Internet of Things and knowledgeable in embedded software development. You have experience in leading software development projects and invest time in understanding and implementing DevOps and Agile concepts tailored to the goals of the organization.

What we need to see:

  • Experience in leading software projects and preferably development teams;
  • Strong communicator to developers and management;
  • Experience with software development processes: DevOps, SCRUM, Agile development;
  • Experience in Embedded Technology, Profound interest in IoT, and telecommunication technologies: GSM, UMTS, LTE, ZigBee, 4G LPWA, LoRa, Sigfox;
  • Knowledge of C / C++ programming, preferably on embedded systems or Linux;
  • Ability to work as team player with different stakeholders in connectivity;
  • Relevant experience and maturity to step into the role as team leader.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering: Electronics, Computer Sciences or equivalent;
  • Working language is English.
