Your role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and innovative individual with a strong interest in supporting children and young people, to join our Out of Home Care Leadership team for a 12 month period covering parental leave.

The Team Leader Out of Home Care is responsible for leading a team of staff in the delivery of effective and quality Foster Care services supporting children, young people and their volunteer caregivers. This role has a particular focus on recruitment and support of foster carers.

About you

  • Experience at a high level within children and families or ideally foster care
  • Ability to lead, develop and mentor others
  • Experience or knowledge of Best Interest Principles as outlined within the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • Ability to provide children and young people with supportive placements whilst maintaining safety
  • A commitment to working with vulnerable children young people and families who have experienced trauma
  • Strong in communication and decision making

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline at degree level or diploma level with experience relevant to child welfare

  • The base salary is $113,224 (soon to increase) plus super plus salary packaging (Level 7.2 SCHCADS)
