Background
The Climate Emergency Collaboration Group
(CECG) is a regranting collaboration made up of some of the world’s largest climate
philanthropic funders. We facilitate stronger collaboration, coordination, and campaigning from
global climate advocates in pursuit of increased climate action around the UN climate talks and
other international summits. CECG is fiscally sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors
(RPA), a 501(c)(3), as a Sponsored Project within its charitable-giving fund.
This work will come under the CECG’s Implementation Programme with the objective to
maintain and strengthen mitigation ambition in the multilateral climate process (UNFCCC) in
line with science. The objective is underpinned by three pillars of work: accountability and
transparency, energy transitions, and food and nature. The expert consultant will support the
Programme Director around non-party stakeholder accountability and transparency with a focus on
the international climate negotiations and the implementation of outcomes from the UNFCCC and
wider UN processes.
The Climate Emergency Collaboration Group is looking for a consultant with expertise in
international climate change accountability mechanisms and architecture who can provide
technical advice to our growing programme of work. The consultant will play a key role in
bringing thought leadership, alignment, and collaboration to the accountability ecosystem to
ensure transparency, credibility and accountability – avoiding greenwashing/green hushing – and
prompting the collection and use of high-quality data, reporting and assessment practices.
Purpose of role
The Consultant will provide technical advice and analysis to the Implementation team and
partners around mapping, proposals, and initiatives in the field of accountability.
