 The Opportunity

  • $82,818 – $93,711 (depending on exp.) + 17% super + leave loading
  • 2-year fixed term contract, potential for extension 

The UNSW Flow Cytometry facility is one of ten core research-support facilities in the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre supported through the Division of Research and Enterprise. The Flow Cytometry Facility operates 15 instruments including 3 cell sorters, 5 flow cytometry analysers, 2 particle analysers, 4 associated high-end instruments and related equipment The facility provides support and expertise to more than 250 researchers.

Reporting to the Flow Cytometry Facility Manager, this research-support position will assist in maintaining and operating flow cytometry and related instrumentation, training users of the facility and providing support in flow cytometry applications to a broad user-base. You will also contribute to the overall operation of the flow cytometry facility and assist with the ongoing development of the facility.

About the successful applicant:

You have a BSc (honour) and or an equivalent level of knowledge of experience conducting research including flow cytometry experiments and knowledge of the principles of flow cytometry, particle analysis and applications including flow cytometry fluorophore panel selection, instrument set-up and data analysis, as well as research laboratory operations including IT laboratory-based management systems.   You can also demonstrate your time management and communication skills, record keeping, knowledge of health & safety, and ability to work independently and contribute positively to the team.
