- $83,879 – $95,090 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading — QLD Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) – Level 4 to Level 5 of EBA5. The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate’s level of experience, skills and qualifications.
- 9 day fortnight
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- Location: Petrie (relocating to Narangba)
About our opportunity
Reporting to the Coordinator Waste Planning and Compliance, you’ll be responsible for delivering a range of assigned projects, reports, investigations and tasks in waste and resource recovery planning, strategies, operational requirements, tracking, reporting and statutory and regulatory compliance.
You’ll be working on the roll-out of exciting programs in line with federal, state and City of Moreton Bay policies and strategies focused on resource recovery and circular economy outcomes. You’ll also be:
- collating and analysing reports
- delivering projects and investigations
- presenting environmental data and reviewing asset management plans
- procurement duties and reviewing waste facility contractor performance against KPIs
- training and engaging weighbridge attendants and auditing compliance
- building high level relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as senior management, regulatory bodies, service providers, consultants and government agencies.
The team are currently based in Petrie and will relocate to the brand new, purpose built Narangba Depot in the coming months, as well as working across various sites in the region.
About you
As our Technical Officer – Waste Planning and Compliance, you’ll bring your significant understanding and experience of waste management facilities and operations, and applying best practice, industry standards as well as interpreting legislation. You’ll also bring your:
- demonstrated experience working with complex data sets and preparing project briefs or plans
- strong time management and project management skills
- demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment and autonomously to deliver work in collaboration with others and with minimal guidance
- positive and professional work style, high level communication skills and a proactive and unparalleled commitment to waste compliance, service to the community and sustainability outcomes
- current C class driver’s licence (required)
- a tertiary qualification in business analytics, science, sustainability, environmental science, environmental management, accounting, law or another relevant field (required)
- Queensland Construction Induction Card (required, or be willing to obtain prior to commencement at own cost).
