We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and driven person to join the School of Medicine’s Core Technical Services Community. This role will be based on University Park, leading the School’s University Park Technical Team, a highly skilled and dynamic group supporting multiple buildings performing multi-disciplinary teaching and research.
You will provide operational management of the school’s technical services staff to enable the delivery of an excellent professional service across the school, for both teaching and research. You will have responsibility for one of the school’s sites and will deal with tasks, issues and requests, delegating to your staff. You will manage multiple teaching and research laboratories, ensuring that the needs of a range of stakeholders are met. You will have responsibility for the planning and performance within your laboratories. You will work with independence and initiative to manage processes and projects and react to changing priorities and work circumstances, organising your teams work to meet your set objectives.
You will be a dynamic and effective individual, with the ability to prioritise competing demands to present informed recommendations to senior management together with the ability to implement recommendations. This will include monitoring and reporting on progress against strategic and operational plans and key performance indicators and drafting procedure and arrangement documents in line with University policy.
