The RoleThe Technical Solutions Engineer is primarily responsible for designing and delivering technical solutions within NEP Connect’s strategic pillars of Managed Outsource Networks, Shared Fibre Networks, Ad-hoc and Full-Time Satellite Services and Outsourced Managed Services.In addition, the role holder will integrate capabilities from across NEP group into end-to-end solutions. They will have a technical understanding of resilient IP based Media networks, designed for live video and audio in permanent installations, and temporary installation for events. Will also act as a technical contact for technical designs and pro-actively support technical engagements with customers. Will work closely with and support the account managers in developing their accounts and will build strong technical working relationships with their customer contacts. They will assist with technical responses to RFPs and competitive tenders.Responsibilities

• Work with the sales teams on Contracts, New Business and Products, to drive profitable business growth for all NEP Connect pillars and the rest of the NEP Group.
• Gather customer requirements, design solutions which fulfil and exceed customer expectations, document solutions effectively and accurately and ‘own’ the service delivery.
• Ensure that technical relationships across NEP customers are developed and maintained to support and deliver KPI’s, service contracts and business objectives regionally and internationally.
• Provide technical input into RFIs, RFPs and contracts.
• Continually strive to improve the ways in which our services are delivered. Always ensuring that the quality of service for all operational divisions meets our customers’ requirements.
• Ensure that key relationships with main influencers within the business (e.g. recognised trade unions) are developed and maintained to support and deliver business objectives.
• Develop and sustain strong and positive relationships with a wide range of people including staff, key customers, and suppliers across the industry.
• Maintain industry knowledge, encourage, and drive innovation in technology and roll out of new services and ‘business as usual’ service delivery.
• Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all NEP Connect Policies and any applicable legislation, including but not limited to H&S, Road Traffic Act, International Operator license obligations and working time directive.

Skills / QualificationsRequired

• Experience of technical solution design into the broadcast and media industry in both ad-hoc and permanent managed services.
• Prior experience in technical sales including consultative sales techniques.
• Good knowledge of broadcast networks and IP technologies.
• Experience of compression and multiplexing systems, and origination platforms.
• Knowledge of satellite solution design is required.
• Good negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external is key.
• Ability to deliver high quality project-based services in a predictable manner at a predictable cost.
