Are you a Scrum Master who gets Scrum? Are you someone that understands configuration and integration?If yes, we are looking for a Technical Team Lead to join our team in Gloucester, with hybrid working between home and office to suit your routine. We are in the process of undertaking a major strategic initiative, that will deliver a new General Insurance Platform to the business. This is a very exciting time to join the team, as we look to take advantage of modern IT integration and configuration frameworks and provide real innovation to the business.In this role, you will line manage and scrum master a team of Implementation Engineers. Delivery is also key in this role, and you will be driving the Delivery process for the team, working alongside Product Owners, System Analysts, Infrastructure, Development and Testing teams, internally and with external suppliers.You will be working within our Continuous Improvement Team and at Programme level, using the Scrum Framework, that will allow us to deliver regular value and enhancements to the business.Joining our rapidly expanding and innovative Group presents a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and become an integral part of an inclusive, purpose-led organisation.Key responsibilities
- Accountable for development and management of a team of Implementation Engineers, defining technical processes, standards and approach
- Oversee the analysis, design, development and testing of new General Insurance (GI) system changes, delivering functionality and value to the business
- Supporting Group Technology with technical strategic objectives, and promoting and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives with our third-party suppliers
Personal and Team Development
- Act as a Scrum Master and point of referral for the team, resolving any operational service matters
- Line Management of the team, including performance development, personal development, coaching and driving continuous improvement across the team
- Support the team with continuous training and development to upskill themselves and yourself
Share and Collaborate
- Work with our external suppliers to increase the knowledge and expertise of the team to enable the delivery of change to the business
- Participate in continuous improvement reviews through Sprint retrospectives. Identify and lead opportunities to improve current methods, practices, and processes
- Working in collaboration with the wider systems development and system test teams to ensure successful completion and implementation of changes
- Accountable to the Head of GI Platform for development within the team
- Work with existing framework to proactively seek new ways of working
Knowledge, skills and experience
- A strong interest in technology and development practices.
- Experience in providing IT 3rd level application support.
- Experience in configuration and integration of IT systems across applications.
- Good understanding of the Scrum framework.
- Understanding of software design and software architecture principles.
- Having a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret business requirements to create fit for purpose solutions.
- Previous experience in configuring IT systems and document creation to deliver timely business solutions.
- Ability to create SQL statements.
- Experience working in a Software Development Lifecycle.
