Technical Writer for World Vision East Asia Region

  1. Create, edit, and revise various forms of communication products, including but not limited to correspondence and technical documentation such as speeches, factsheets, talking points, opinions, prefaces, forewords, web articles, and social media texts in a consistent and coherent manner across all communication platforms

  2. Conduct desk research of materials, including the materials produced by the UN and other relevant organizations, in consultation with the WV’s External Engagement Team.

  3. Edit and proofread written documents prepared by WV, including checking spelling, acronyms, and other abbreviations, etc. The drafting and editing work may require some additional research and coordination with relevant staff.

    In editing and proofreading the existing text and drafting new content, the consultant is required to communicate in language that can be understood by a general audience, that is both factual and sensitive to the diversity of geographical contexts.

  4. Review and revise content (for external publications, presentations, research papers, etc.) by editing the existing text and structure, drafting new content where necessary, and consolidating and synthesizing draft text.

  5. Ensure all written work is authentic, original, and appropriately cited and/or referenced.

  6. Provide technical input from multiple sources, updating references on current evidence, and generally responding to the recommendations for updating the document that was the output of the prior technical consultation phase.

  7. Draft new text where appropriate to fill highlighted gaps in the current content. Examples of such new text include the main narrative, illustrative case studies, or highlighted boxes.

  8. Ensure consistency of language and seamless for of information; presenting a cohesive and integrated front.

  9. Support any other writing tasks related to communications of the secretariat, as required.

  10. Incorporate feedback provided by multiple stakeholders and revise the content accordingly
