UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology. UNICEF GSSC has a continuous improvement process which often identify needed changes in process and integration of various system, this sometime result in automating manual processes and finding innovative ways to improve performance of teams and overall operations. The Senior ICT Associate’s goal is to support the GSSC with process automation, development of solutions to implementation and maintenance.
How can you make a difference?
Senior ICT Associate will perform a variety of activities related to process optimization and automation, development and maintenance of RPA solutions while ensuring applicable compliance, quality and documentation standards are met and maintained. The work requires close partnering with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT subject matter experts and other stakeholders sharing information and ensure an optimal solution to the business.
This is a temporary appointment for an initial period of 364 days. It is a great opportunity for career development in a fast-paced, multicultural context and for taking the first step towards an international career as part of the UN family.
Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:
- Process Optimization and Automation
- Support the POA team in improving and automating GSSC processes
- Understand and analyze business processes to identify opportunities for automation.
- Develop solutions in different programming languages and automation tools (e.g., AutoIt, Blue Prism, VBA, SQL, PowerShell).
- Participate in documenting business requirements.
- Mentor and coach early adopters of the developed products in business units.
- Conduct functional testing of provided solutions.
- Systems Integration between Agora and Other Platforms
- Provide support on systems integration between Agora and other systems/platforms such as ServiceNow, Active Directory, SAP systems, PageUp, and others.
- Technical Support for the AGORA Platform
- Provide technical system support to the Customer Care and Global Learning Center teams for the Agora Platform.
- Liaise with the vendor, ICTD, and the GSSC Global Learning Center to plan and implement system maintenance, technical upgrades, and deploy platform patches.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is a minimum requirement, supplemented with university-level courses in system engineering or programming or automation or equivalent specialized training is an asset.
- Minimum 7 years of work experience is required out of which 3 years is in process automation, programming. A completed first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) from an accredited institution will be considered as 3 years’ work experience (for fully completed degrees only).
- Programming skills in in any programming language like Python, AutoIt Script, Powershell, VB script, SQL, etc… is required.
- Programming skills on any RPA platforms is an asset.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Vision), including ERP systems such as SAP or similar.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
Internal applicants (holders of fixed-term, continuing contracts) from the GSSC are required to complete their Learning Paths corresponding to their current levels before applying for other positions.
