About the role

The Tenancy Officer is responsible for efficient tenancy management assistance and administrative support to the Veteran Services Department. You will liaise directly with current and prospective tenants so a high level of customer service and empathy will be required.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide effective customer service assisting with general enquiries and liaising with residents in relation to their property and tenancy via phone, email, in person
  • Escalate matters/tasks as required to the Property Manager such as legal matters, complaints and or complex tenancy or property matters.
  • In conjunction with the Property Manager effectively manage vacancies within the program and allocate new renters into vacant properties
  • Manage the Ex-Service Accommodation inbox in a timely and professional manner and escalate matters to the Property Manager as required.
  • Update and upload files in database with renter in-goings, vacancies, transfers, waitlists and exits.
  • Prepare Statistical reports as required by the General Manager, Veteran Services.

Travel across Metropolitan Melbourne, as well as occasional travel to Victorian regional areas will be required.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be kind, customer-service focussed and thrive in a dynamic environment.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience in residential real estate property management.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out duties with a customer service orientation.
  • Experience in maintenance software systems
  • Demonstrated numeracy skills.
  • Work co-operatively as part of a team and independently as required within the scope of this role.
  • Effectively manage time, organise workload and manage competing demands when necessary
  • Strong computer literacy with emphasis on data management, Microsoft Office and internet
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to undergo a National police check and provide proof of rights to work in Australia
