Location: Remote with Ad Hoc Travel to Manchester
Rate: £400-500 Outside IR35 ;

We have a brilliant Test Manager opportunity for our aviation client , based in Manchester. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing testing processes and managing multiple stakeholders. You will establish and ensure best practices for testing. You will also train and mentor other team members, both permanent and contract resources, and serve as a technical resource to others for troubleshooting, problem resolution and system governance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing test management and oversight of the projects including all workstreams within the programme
- Produce a test plan for the project that covers all test phases, including timelines of activities and deliverables to support the testing
- Co-ordinate and manage test preparation and test execution for all test phases against the test plan
- Defect management and reporting against defects and expected resolution dates.
- Creating technical solutions to improve test process efficiency and validate the quality and performance of a range of technologies.
- Understand the testing effort by analysing the requirements of a development project.
- Estimate and obtain management support for the time, resources and budget required to perform the testing.
- Ensure that all prerequisites for testing, including data readiness and system configuration, are meticulously executed.
- Assess the current QA process and identify areas of improvement where best practices like automation, Risk based testing, reporting, Pattern analysis etc. can be adopted to increase the efficiency of delivery.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders including external suppliers and end users to provide high quality, secure services to the business.
- Establish quality engineering process and practices and educate stakeholders in the benefits to ensure adoption of quality gates.
- Partner closely across business stakeholders to understand the business processes that the testing underpins.
- Provide documentation, training and mentoring for testers including contract resource where required.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures to improve security and support continuous service improvement.
- Work with the development teams to automate testing wherever possible.
Essential Experience:
- Aviation experience is ESSENTIAL due to the critical systems that are being used.
- Test planning, test execution, defect management and progress reporting
- Well versed with strategies to ensure that testing of the implementation has the right coverage.
- Broad experience of IT project delivery across a range of disciplines, including but not limited to core IT projects, business applications and development projects and business process change projects.
- Experience of working with external suppliers and partners
