At Lighthouse we provide homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long term neglect, abuse and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where children and youth can feel safe, form meaningful relationships and begin to heal from traumatic experiences. Our Lighthouse Homes, Foster and Family Care and In Community care environments ensure our support reaches the children and youth who need it, where they need it, for as long as they need it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is within the Young Parents and Babies Transitional Home which provides support to enrich the safety, attachment and physical and emotional development for trauma-impacted young parents and their babies/children.

  • Work from a welcoming Lighthouse Transitional home which specialises in supporting young people (under 25) and their babies
  • Provide therapeutic case management to a small case load which works to enrich the safety, attachment and physical and emotional development between trauma-impacted young parent’s and their babies/children.
  • Support young people to plan for their transitions to safe and sustainable independent living and break the cycle of intergenerational trauma
  • Deliver individualised therapeutic interventions that are strengths based and young person centred, with the guidance of the Lighthouse Clinical Team.
  • Develop and maintain multi-disciplinary stakeholder relationships within the community to create good outcomes for young people

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor Level Qualification in a related discipline (social work, health, psychology, social science, community services)
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (Employee)
  • Current unrestricted driver’s license
  • Valid first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Complete a National Criminal Records check, and participate in a psycho-social screen by Lighthouse
  • Provide consent for a Disqualified Carers Check
