WHO IS LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION?

Lighthouse provides therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where young people can feel safe, form meaningful relationships and begin to heal. All Lighthouse programs, are underpinned by an evidence-based therapeutic model of care, called the Lighthouse Model of Care (LMC). The LMC integrates trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, and psychoanalytic principles of emotional development to create a holistic therapeutic treatment environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role’s purpose is to provide Therapeutic Case Management to a low case load of young Parents & Babies, living together in a purpose-built home; currently two families who require a 24/7 therapeutic staffing model. Utilising a trauma informed practice to create a holistic therapeutic treatment environment, the primary duties will involve a combination of case management, delivery of individualised and community therapeutic interventions, and leadership of a team of dedicated Therapeutic Carers within the home. You will ensure a predictable and safe environment is established through routines and a reflective culture is embedded to support the Therapeutic Carers to have empathy and curiosity for the young people’s experiences. The Therapeutic Case Manager works within a multi- disciplinary team to support the young people in their care with the aim of keeping families together, where safe to do so. The role will be based within our North Coburg Lighthouse home four days per week and the Youth Resource Hub in Cremorne one day per week.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or other higher-level qualification in Social Work/Youth Work equivalent
  • Applicants must also complete the mandatory upskilling units as required by Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (Employee)
  • Complete a National Criminal Records check, and participate in a psycho-social screen by Lighthouse,
  • Provide consent for a Disqualified Carers Check
  • Hold a valid Victorian driver’s licence
