Join the Australian Childhood Foundation in a meaningful career as a Therapeutic Specialist in the Therapeutic Residential Care program (TRC) that is being delivered in partnership with Junction Support Services.

About the Role:
As a Therapeutic Specialist, you step into a role that epitomises impact and empowerment within our program. Your presence as a consultant and practitioner within the TRC program is pivotal as a provider of specialised therapeutic support. This key leadership role will also allow you the opportunity to resource tailored therapeutic support for children and young people in partnership with their carers, families, and other services that are involved.
This position will have the opportunity to work across 1 TRC homes in Bairnsdale as part of a broader program covering Gippsland. The Therapeutic Specialist will be part of a community, co-located with Junction Support Services in the Bairnsdale area.
Key Selection Criteria:
What you bring to the table:
- Qualification – a postgraduate tertiary qualification or additional relevant training in child, adolescent, and family clinical practice.
- Supportive Leadership Skills – provide therapeutic leadership and guidance to a range of professionals and members of a child’s network
- Effective Communicator – you are a clear, positive, supportive, and effective communicator
- Previous Experience – you have previously worked with children and young people, particularly, in child abuse or trauma-related work preferably in the out-of-home care sector. You will also have experience in program development, monitoring, and evaluating
- Extensive Knowledge – child advocacy, child welfare, child protection, and relevant legislation is something you’re well versed in and passionate about
- A current Victoria driver’s license, Working with Children Check, and prepared to undergo a national police check
