We currently have a .7 position for a Therapeutic Specialists to become part of our passionate, supportive, and dynamic team in our new Ulverstone office. In this role, you will experience the satisfaction of working with a varied caseload spanning our wide range of therapeutic programs. There is some flexibility about how the .7 hours can be undertaken.

About the Role:

As a Therapeutic Specialist, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide holistic care and support. Your role will be as diverse as it is rewarding, encompassing everything from initial intake assessments to conducting counselling and group activities with children, young people, and their carers. Additionally, you will provide clinical leadership, aiding in the development and implementation of therapeutic support for children and young people in out-of-home care and children and their important adults in our Children’s Family Violence Counselling Program. You will also play a pivotal role in training professionals and carers in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches, further enhancing our collective impact.

About You:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Eligibility for membership in the relevant professional association.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead and provide direct service in clinical assessment and treatment for children, young people, and families.
  • Exceptional skills in providing secondary consultation and guidance to fellow clinicians and professionals.
  • The capacity to thrive in a challenging and complex practice environment.
  • Profound knowledge of trauma, attachment, and neurobiology frameworks and theories.
  • Substantial experience in child abuse and/or working with traumatized children.
  • A commitment to collaborative work and the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with volunteers, carers, government departments, other agencies, and the community.
  • A deep understanding of the complexities of the service system and the intricacies of providing services to statutory clients.
  • A current Tasmanian driver’s license or equivalent.
  • A current Working with Children check or equivalent.
