Trail Clearing Crewmember

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Trail Clearing Crew to work in the Sawtooth and White Cloud Ranges during the summer of 2025. This is a seasonal position focused on maintaining and improving backcountry trails in some of Idaho’s most iconic wilderness areas.

Qualifications:

• Sawyer certification (preferred)
• Prior trail maintenance or trail crew experience
• Ability to work in remote backcountry conditions
• Strong work ethic and team collaboration skills
• Knowledge of the Sawtooth and White Cloud ranges (terrain, conditions, access)

Responsibilities:

• Clearing fallen trees and debris using hand tools and chainsaws
• Brushing, drainage maintenance, and minor tread work
• Ensuring safe work practices in rugged wilderness settings
• Hiking and backpacking with tools and supplies

Additional Information:

• Housing or camping accommodations may be provided or coordinated
• Gear and tools provided or partially subsidized
• Schedule and duration negotiable based on crew size and trail conditions
