NIB is seeking a
TRAINEE
to join the Sustainability and Mandate unit (SUM) in Helsinki during the summer period on a fixed-term contract. The position is full time and optimally held from mid-June till August. You will also provide general support to the Lending department.
The SUM team is responsible for the assessment of projects financed by the Bank for their alignment with both NIB’s mandates – productivity gains and environmental benefits – and for carrying out client level ESG analysis across sectors. We follow and shape the development of sustainable finance markets working in collaboration with other IFIs and sustainable finance platforms in setting standards and guidelines.
NIB has committed to be a Net-Zero bank by 2050 and you will support the Bank’s climate project in various data related activities to implement the recommendations of the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and implementing NIB’s climate strategy.
Main Responsibilities
- Collection of clients’ climate and financial data
- Participate in operational development of climate data management.
- Supporting with analysis and bringing insights from climate data
- Contribute to GHG accounting of NIB’s portfolio and climate target development.
Qualifications
- True interest for sustainability, climate change and the interlinkage with the financial sector.
- A team worker, who also can work independently.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good IT skills – ability to use standard software.
- Strong command of English and one of the Nordic languages.
- The successful candidate should have completed minimum 2 years of Bachelor studies, preferably in economics, environmental sciences, climate change and/or sustainability.
- Basic knowledge and/or experience of finance would be considered as an advantage.
