An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Clinical Trial Manager within Stroke, AU1 Mental Health & Clinical Neuroscience. The role is suitable for people with limited management experience and who are interested in research trial management. The role holder will complete a mandatory training package as well as hands on trial management experience under the supervision of the trial manager. The role will be based at the QMC, Nottingham University Hospitals and the role holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team coordinating multi-centre UK and international stroke trials. 

The purpose of the role is to support the Senior Clinical Trial Manager with HR, staffing (to include staff recruitment an induction), trial governance and report writing. The role holder will also lead and manage the administrative staff to ensure the smooth running of the department. The role will include overseeing site monitoring visits at clinical trial centres, co-ordinating trial set up and close-down procedures, training trial centre staff to follow the trial protocol, follow up visits and telephone calls conducted by the stroke trials team.

The role holder will be involved with several clinical trials and will be required to work within a team as well as independently to manage trial documentation and centres and deliver research goals. The role holder will join an established team, led by Prof Philip Bath, whose main areas of research interest include stroke. Work will be in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines for the conduct of clinical research trials. Travel within the UK and internationally will be required to attend conferences and research sites.

Due to the complexities of clinical trials and related governance, you will need to be proactive and have an excellent and precise attentional to detail and be able to follow processes and procedures, as well as identify inaccuracies.
