tendersglobal.net

If you have a passion for the environment and are keen to work with our team in Hertfordshire
to fulfil our aspiration to create a greener, cleaner, healthier environment, then this could
be the role for you.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Trainee Projects Officer to join our Land
Management team and contribute to a range of interesting and varied environmental land
management projects.

Our ambitious Sustainable Hertfordshire Strategy includes a commitment to improve biodiversity
across Hertfordshire by 20% before 2050, and this is your opportunity to play a vital role in
making this target a reality.

The Countryside and Rights of Way Service works in partnership with private landowners,
communities and other local authorities to develop and deliver projects that enhance the
environment for people and wildlife. Our Land Management team has a broad project portfolio
encompassing woodland management, heathland restoration, chalk river restoration and developing
old railway lines as active travel routes.

You will have studied or volunteered in similar areas and will be able to demonstrate your
commitment to a career in countryside management, greenspace development or delivery of green
infrastructure. You will now be aiming to develop your professional expertise and competence in
land management.

You will be able to work in an organised and professional manner, learning from more
experienced colleagues and developing skills quickly to make a meaningful contribution to our
goals.

A full current driving licence is essential, and you will be expected to work in rural
locations with difficult terrain.

Working within a talented and experienced team, you will be given full training and support to
develop your portfolio of skills and experience. You will be able to contribute to projects of
varying sizes, enhancing nature in Hertfordshire while also growing in your own career.

Benefits of working for us:

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Excellent career development
  • Salary exchange for additional benefits
  • Excellent pension scheme with employer contributions
  • Shopping discounts
  • Support groups and wellbeing scheme
