Trainer to Conduct Women Cooperative Training

Introduction:

This TOR outlines the requirements and expectations for the trainer who will be responsible for delivering trainings for 15 groups of SSP women cooperative in Two different locations within Anbar governorate to enhance their capacity in different aspects such as social cohesion, e.g. managing dispute resolution dialogues and conflict mitigation strategies, then, provide Oxfam with a full report covering the trainings. 

Objectives:

The primary objectives of this engagement are as follows:

1. Deliver trainings for 310 SSP women cooperative to enhance their knowledge on social cohesion, managing dispute resolution dialogues and conflict mitigation strategies
2. Provision of knowledge on various stages to women groups of cooperative principles and support other women in the targeted area for any issues related to their project.

 

Scope of Work:

• Develop a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to the needs of women’s cooperatives.
• Deliver interactive and practical training sessions.
• Provide tools and templates for cooperative management 

• Facilitate discussions on challenges faced by women in cooperatives and propose solutions.
• Incorporate gender-sensitive approaches and encourage participation from all members.

Methodology:

During the preparation phase of the materials, the contracted consultants or consultant firm will:

  • Be consulted closely with the contracting authority,
  • Hold regular meetings with contracting authority,
  • The deliverables (including the first and final versions) should always be delivered via email,
  • Ownership & Copyrights: The materials will be owned by OXFAM.

Deliverables:

The trainer will be required to:

1. Submit a detailed training plan, including the curriculum and schedule, before the training.
2. Conduct training sessions over a specified period (20 days).
3. Provide a report summarizing the training process, participation levels, key discussions, and recommendations for future support.

 

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should have:
• A degree in community development, cooperative management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in training/coaching cooperatives, preferably women-led.
• Knowledge of cooperative principles, governance, and social cohesion background.
• Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to deliver gender-sensitive content.
• Experience working with women’s groups in a culturally sensitive manner.

 

Roles and responsibilities 

Key responsibilities of the contracted party are: 

  • Close collaboration with the staff engaged in the project from the contracting authority.
  • Meet the agreed deadlines and expected quality standards.
  • Consider all the suggestions coming from the contracting authority for the materials.
  • If contacted as a short listed potential contracted party, prepare, and submit an activity plan and timeline responsive to the listed requirements as per this ToR,
  • Report regularly to OXFAM and be responsive to OXFAM’s project related requests.
  • Prepare a final report.

 

Key responsibilities of the contracting authority are: 

  • Comment on the content of the materials.
  • Review the content of the prepared materials and approve it.
  • Provide necessary support to the contracted party.
  • Hold the contracting party accountable to the agreed terms.

 

 Duration of the Assignment

The assignment is expected to last [20 days], including preparation, training delivery, and reporting.

 

Timeline:

The national team of consultants or the consultation firm is expected to complete the full requirements and scope of work within a two and half month’s period, 

Interested candidates are required to submit:

1. A cover letter with a maximum of two pages with an expression of interest to carry out the work as described in this ToR.
2. Curriculum vita highlighting relevant experience.
3. At least two references from previous similar assignments.

Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:

• Relevance and quality of the technical proposal.
• Professional experience and qualifications of the trainer.
• Cost-effectiveness of the financial proposal.
