Position Title TRAINING & PROCESSING SPECIALIST
Position Summary The Training & Processing Specialist in Application Processing will be responsible for creating and updating documentation for the day-to-day operational functions related to the processing, evaluation, and admission of all applicant types, including but not limited to, undergraduate, graduate, and online international students. The Training & Processing Specialist in Application also provides consistent, ongoing training related to existing and new application processing functions. The Training & Processing Specialist will also assist the Director with quality control measures, and other duties as assigned. The position requires excellent and precise interpersonal communication in both written and verbal forms. In addition, it requires the ability to analyze information, confidence to work with a high degree of autonomy, and the skills to professionally represent the university to diverse constituencies.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
Demonstrated experience with college admissions, the processing of admissions applications in higher education, other higher education process expertise, or training and documentation experience.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
Strong technical skills including systems usage implementation.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of reporting tools and report generation.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule during peak periods.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications Direct experience in processing admissions applications in a university or college setting.
Familiarity with University enterprise systems such as Slate, SAP and Perceptive Content.
Ability to interpret University policies and procedures.
Ability to interact effectively with constituencies (on campus departments, students, and parents).
Duties & Responsibilities Maintains and edits an online procedure manual for all Application Processing procedures; this will include creating new documentation for new or undocumented procedures such as calculating GPAs and credit hours, changing applications (both submitted and in progress), and sending email and text communication out of Slate.
Organizes, develops, and delivers training to new and current Application Processing staff based on procedures in shared processing manual.
Releases admission decisions for all applicant types, using the decision release process as a catalyst to create new training topics for the application processing staff as a whole or as individuals.
Assists in the use of system data and reporting to track, analyze, and report on Application Processing trends or anomalies; assists the Director with reporting and resolving technical issues that adversely impact Application Processing by providing technical documentation to show both the expected behavior and the current behavior in the admissions and student records systems.
Assists with continuous improvement of Application Processing services by soliciting feedback from staff training to ensure the development of the best, most relevant training and enhancing campus-wide services related to application processing.  
Serves as the designated back-up for the Director for select duties as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Application Processing.
