Context

UNDP Morocco is committed to making its developmental initiatives and projects more accessible and engaging to a broader audience. As part of this commitment, we are seeking an online volunteer to transcribe and subtitle key video content. This task will involve converting spoken Moroccan Darija from selected videos into written text and providing accurate French subtitles. These videos are crucial for our outreach and educational efforts, as they highlight the impact of our work across various communities and stakeholders. By ensuring that these videos are accessible to both Arabic- and French-speaking audiences, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and support for our projects within the local and international community.

Task description

The selected online volunteer will play an essential role in enhancing the accessibility and reach of UNDP Morocco’s multimedia content by transcribing text from videos in Moroccan Darija and adding French subtitles. This task will help ensure that our video content is understandable and engaging for both local and French-speaking international audiences. The volunteer will:
– Transcribe the spoken Moroccan Darija from 4 videos into written Moroccan Darija, ensuring accuracy in capturing the content and essence of the dialogue.
– Translate and synchronize French subtitles for the same 4 videos, adhering to best practices in subtitling to maintain timing, readability, and context.
– Work closely with the Communications Analyst to ensure translations meet the required linguistic standards and are aligned with the intended messaging.
This role requires excellent command of both Moroccan Darija and French, attention to detail, and prior experience in transcription and subtitling.
