ROLE of the POSITION

The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to building a diverse community, one where employees feel a sense of belonging and are valued for their contributions and the perspectives they bring. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant University Registrar for Graduation and Transfer Student Services, The Transfer Articulation Analyst will provide support, coordination, and performs specific operational functions within transfer articulation. In an effort to streamline the transfer process for undergraduate students, this position will aid in the creation and maintenance of course transfer rules in MyUNLV (PeopleSoft) and other databases.

This position will play a vital role in meeting the university’s strategic initiatives in the areas of transfer articulation and the implementation of transfer agreements with other postsecondary institutions. Guided by best practices, guidelines and policies, this position is responsible for executing timely and accurate evaluation of transfer credit from other postsecondary institutions, and maintaining course transfer rules in various systems, such as the Transfer Evaluation System (TES), Transferology and Transferology Lab systems, and MyUNLV (PeopleSoft)for the creation and maintenance of course transfer rules in databases in an effort to streamline the transfer process for undergraduate students.

The Transfer Articulation Analyst will have a broad understanding of the transfer credit evaluation process and the requirements needed to map course-to-course equivalencies. This position will be responsible for researching general education requirements at other postsecondary institutions and systems and seek opportunities to automate and streamline the processing of transfer credits.

In the course of this work, the Analyst will have the authority to make decisions and interact with internal and external university colleagues and undergraduate students. The incumbent will provide advising services as they relate to the Office of the Registrar and explain and enforce policies and regulations that govern transfer and transfer articulation, along with academic and enrollment policies put forth in the undergraduate catalog and those established by the University and/or Board of Regents. This position exercises discretion, analytical observation, and independent judgement in daily operational decision making and must adhere to strict confidentiality measures including compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Physical Demands 

Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years of related professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

  • Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and public speaking skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge or demonstrated usage of the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) and Transferology
  • Administrative work experience in transfer articulation, transfer programming, and curriculum analysis
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or similar student information systems
  • Basic understanding of degree audit and academic program requirements
  • High computer literacy and versatility
