Mission and objectives

We work to ensure that everybody has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge, having fled violence, persecution, war or disaster at home. Since 1950, we have faced multiple crises on multiple continents, and provided vital assistance to refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced and stateless people, many of whom have nobody left to turn to. We help to save lives and build better futures for millions forced from home. Context

UNHCR Indonesia is updating its information package for refugees residing in Indonesia, of which a considerable number are Arabic speaker. UNHCR Indonesia will also update the information on its HELP website and disseminate in the communities during outreach and other community engagement. To that end, we are seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers with professional background in translation and interpretation to support us in translating the Information Package. The translation support is crucial as UNHCR Indonesia is also developing a new digital platform and is updating its communication strategy for refugees in Indonesia to ensure that they have improved access to information and services provided by UNHCR, which will contribute to the achievement of better gender equality and tackle inequality in access to information among the refugee population, while enhancing that refugees have better understanding about their rights and available solutions.
