This position is located in the Transport Unit of UNSCO Gaza Office.
Responsibilities
Under the operational supervision of UNSCO Head of Gaza Office and overall supervision of UNTSO and UNSCO Chief of Transport (CTO), the incumbent is responsible for the following duties: • Carries out fleet management related administrative and technical duties. • Follows up in accordance with SOPs. • Assists in preparing the mission driving orientation briefing. • Addresses routine issues. Escalates more complex issues to the attention of the supervisor. • Assists in conducting practical and written driving tests in order to ensure that successful candidates are capable of safely driving the mission vehicle for which they are licensed in accordance with all road traffic, rules and regulations, both local and UN, applicable in the mission area. • Updates and maintains a detailed database of UN staff being assessed and of issued UN permits. • Prepares UN driving permits. Monitors driving permits records and provides updates on a regular basis. • Compiles monthly insurance and accident reports. • Generates reports from the electronic vehicle monitoring system (EVMS) & Fleet Log and other reports as required. • Carries out fuel management related duties, covering storage and distribution. • Coordinates and leads generator maintenance and repair related administrative duties. • Carries out driving duties for soft skin and light armored vehicles (LAV). • Carries out any other duties as assigned.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification
A valid C, C1 or class 2 driving license is required. Please attach a copy of your valid license to your application. Applications received without a valid driving license attached will not be considered. Proficiency Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
Work Experience
At least three (03) years of progressively responsible experience within Transport operations is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in transport operations in or in support of a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization or non-governmental organization is desirable. Experience in generator maintenance and operations is desirable. Experience in fuel management, storage and fuel distribution is desirable. Experience operating light armoured vehicles is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
