Are you an experienced Transport Manager? Do you like the idea of leading the transport function on one of our key contracts? Are you ready to step up to a new challenge?We’re looking for a full-time, permanent, Transport Manager to lead our transport function based at our brewing client, Shepherd Neame in Faversham. You’ll be responsible for the efficient operation of transport activities at Faversham and associated out base in Thurrock. Ensuring all legislative requirements are met and maintained. Placing the highest regard for colleague development and wellbeing, health & safety, and delivering environmental objectives whilst meeting the highest hygiene standards. Ensuring optimum use of all available resources to provide 1st class customer service and delivering contractual KPI’s maintaining good cost control within a continuous improvement environment.This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00. However, we do ask for some flexibility at peak periods, this is logistics after all!Pay, benefits and more:We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).   • Oversee the transport operation, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance is met
  • Effectively control the optimal utilisation of drivers, coordination of training requirements, along with fleet, compliance, and all transport equipment
  • Ensure that the operation is running cost-effectively, identifying, and implementing operational improvements or opportunities for optimisation
  • Coordinate our customer’s requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction, procedural conformance, and the consistent achievement of SLAs and KPIs

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • A proven track record as a Transport Manager within a logistics environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • International Managers CPC is required along with an excellent working knowledge of transport compliance and legislation
  • The ability to lead, develop, motivate, and inspire your team with a real drive for optimisation, change management and continuous improvement
