Communications and Administration Officer

Working closely with all the road staff to effectively transport vulnerable patients and deceased persons, our Communications team are the hub for our Transport Services division. Working alongside leading Hospitals, Ambulance Victoria, ESTA and the Coroners Court of Victoria, this team is responsible for dispatching Non-emergency patient transport Ambulances and Deceased Persons Vehicles.

The Opportunity

This is a demanding and complex role, requiring someone who is calm under pressure and consistently professional. This role involves juggling multiple priorities, often with limited information and the ability to constantly look ahead and predict and resolve issues before they occur. A successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, be very reliable, and be able to work well as part of the team as well as autonomously.

We’d like to hear from you if you meet the following essential skills and attributes (selection criteria):

  • Demonstrated experience in communications, rostering, scheduling and/or a dispatch role – or a willingness and commitment to learn and be trained in this area.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as high accuracy alphanumeric data entry.
  • A proven record in managing a varied workload across a number of categories and resources.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative.
  • Detailed understanding and adherence to customer requirements.
  • Proven skills and compliance within industry standards, as well as an ability to follow industry related protocols.
  • Reliability with the flexibility to work across a rotating roster including day, night and weekend shifts.
  • Willingness to undertake a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
