ABOUT KIDSXPRESS

KidsXpress is a specialist children’s mental health organisation delivering trauma informed, culturally responsive Expressive Therapy and Education Services to children under the age of 12yrs, their caregivers, and school communities. As leaders in the use of expressive arts therapies (art, music, drama, dance-movement, and play therapy) our clinicians support children towards restored socio-emotional health and wellbeing, while our Trauma-Informed consultancy services work with adults to build confidence and capacity to recognise and respond to children impacted by and living with trauma.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will need to already have an expert understanding of trauma and what caregivers need to be able to recognise and respond to children’s needs in ways that build secure relationship foundations. You will be confident in using coaching approaches to impart your understanding so those you are engaging with achieve greater confidence and capacity to make real changes for the children in their care.

KidsXpress has NESA and ACWA accredited training programs that it delivers through a range of training and coaching engagements under its RTO licensed service offering.

You will be delivering:

  • Coaching engagements to further develop caregivers’ understanding of the impact of trauma and adversity on a child’s developing brain and behaviour
  • Provide consultation to caregivers and other professionals working with children in how to support emotional and relational needs within the school / home environment
  • In-situ observations and coaching of professionals working with children to promote safety, regulation and social emotional competencies.

communication skills.

You’re able to thoughtfully assess differing needs and respond with a considered and relevant plan underpinned by your expert working knowledge of mental health, childhood development and trauma informed principles.
