Position Description

Tree Care Technicians join a team of conservation crewmembers responsible for providing tree maintenance on public and private sites throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Technicians will typically work 10hr shifts, with days beginning and ending at our garage or office location in St. Paul.

This is a full-time position with a starting wage of $16.50/hr with two cash stay bonuses, $250 will be paid out after 90 days of employment, and another $250 will be paid out if employed through November 30th. Overtime (time-and-a-half) is occasionally offered.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Water newly planted trees, providing additional maintenance when necessary, including mulching, staking, and pruning.
  • Drive a GRG truck with watering tank to job sites in the Twin Cities metro area.
  • Represent Great River Greening when interacting with public and private landowners.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work outdoors performing physical work (bending, stretching, reaching, pulling, pushing) for long periods of time in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history and able to drive a full-size crew extended cab 1 ton pickup.
  • Possess or ability to pass First Aid/CPR training.
  • Ability to work productively, efficiently, and safely.
  • Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to update field records and equipment logs.
