Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Climber to join our team in Brookfield, IL. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in professional tree climbing and maintenance. The role involves working on various tree care tasks, including pruning, removal, and health assessments, with a focus on safety and precision.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tree climbing and rigging for the purpose of pruning, removal, and health assessment.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment and tools used in tree care, such as chainsaws, chippers, and climbing gear.
  • Safely ascend and descend trees using climbing ropes and other equipment.
  • Conduct pre-job assessments to evaluate tree health and potential hazards.
  • Ensure job sites are safe and secure, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Communicate eVectively with team members and clients to ensure a clear understanding of job scope and safety measures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Weekends oV unless responding to storm-related emergencies.
  • Municipal work in the winter months, including snow removal and other city maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional tree climbing experience.
  • Valid Class C License.
  • Clean driving record with no DUI convictions.
  • Strong knowledge of tree biology and care techniques.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
  • Good physical condition and stamina.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $30 to $45/hr, based on experience and qualifications.
