The Role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced arboricultural professional to help deliver our
duty of care in relation to trees. The role will cover all the Peak District National Park
Authority’s properties and will contribute to the management of a large and varied tree stock
within a protected landscape.
In the role, you will be responsible for carrying out regular tree inspections and surveys on
the Authority’s properties in line with the Authority’s Tree Safety Management Policy as well
as responding to and investigating reports of dangerous trees on Authority land. You will also
create work instructions and monitor site operations during programmed and ad-hoc tree works
ensuring implementation in accordance with industry codes of best practice.
This role will require travel across all of the Authority’s properties and accessing remote
locations with difficult terrain to undertake tree inspections.
About You
You will need to be able to undertake tree surveys and inspections across the Authority’s
properties in all seasons and weather conditions. Having previous experience of tree inspection
is essential as is knowledge of Health and Safety issues and the relevant legislation. A LANTRA
accredited Professional Tree Inspector certificate is desirable.
You should have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work under
your own initiative and as part of a team and to tight deadlines and experience of using
Microsoft Office.
A full driving licence or the means to travel to carry out the duties of this role is
essential.
