Looking for a new role?
Emmaus Cornwall is seeking a Tree Nursery Lead for our Community Tree Nursery – Emmaus
Community Trees at our 3 acre site near St Austell, Cornwall.
Started in August 2022, we are seeking to grow a viable and sustainable business by collecting
our own quality seeds to produce the best quality trees while offering life enhancing
opportunities to our volunteers, building skills, confidence and supporting health and well
being. We aim to be selling over 200,000 trees and hedging within the next few years, with all
profits returned to finance the charity. We will be growing a mixture of field, cell and pot
grown plants with the appropriate level of mechanisation to aid efficiency. We cared for nearly
100,000 field and cell grown trees in 2023.
If you have a good level of knowledge and experience of the industry, coupled with proven
leadership and entrepreneurial experience we would really hope that you would contact us for an informal discussion in the first instance by emailing [email protected]
We lease a further 25 acres of land and hope that in the future we will be able to expand our
activities to increase our community involvement through a range of appropriate activities,
such as growing food crops and helping people to reconnect with nature, with all the benefits
that brings. There is scope for future professional development.
This is, therefore, a challenging and highly rewarding opportunity for a suitably talented,
experienced and qualified person. This role really is about people, plants and planet, and the
appointed person will have an important role in all of our futures.
£29,000 per annum, 40 hours per week. Full time, flexible hours, permanent.
The closing date is 5pm on Thursday 14 March. Visit our website for more information about the
role and how to apply.
