Trustee

Are You……

➢ Looking for a way to bring together your Christian faith with your professional skills, putting your faith into action, serving others regardless of their background or beliefs?
➢ Looking for a board role as a new challenge in your career?
➢ Interested in how charity and business can work together with a shared vision?

As a faith-based organization with a Christian ethos, we are seeking a trustee who shares our Christian values and can contribute to the governance of the charity in alignment with our mission. We address our charitable objectives through providing grants and investments to a range of frontline charities and social enterprises.

Our strategic mission is primarily to tackle housing-related poverty, a focus which relates to our shared vision with the Andrews property services business that we own. Trustees also oversee the spending of our Speaking Volumes fund, restricted to funding dissemination of Christian literature.

As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in providing oversight and strategic direction to all our work. This role, however, is also to serve on our Christian Community Grants Committee, dedicated to considering how we can support churches and Christian organisations that work inclusively and unconditionally on housing-related poverty. This committee also oversees the Speaking Volumes fund, dedicated to providing high-quality and accessible Christian books in community settings.

Location of Meetings: Board meetings usually in Keynsham near Bristol and the Christian Grants Committee usually in London.
Time commitment: Up to 10 days per year for board members (meetings and supporting charity partners).
Deadline: 5pm on Monday 6th January 2025
In-person Interviews: Friday 7th February 2025

Priority Areas of Focus: We are seeking a variety of expertise and lived experience including:

  • Housing-related poverty
  • Community/place-based development
  • Christian book publishing and libraries
  • Housing services

Please note that we will also consider applications to join the Christian Community Grants Committee as an external advisor (3 meetings a year) if becoming a trustee is too much of a commitment.

Application Process:

Please send a CV and a cover letter answering the following questions to info@andrewscharitabletrust.org.uk:

  • What attracts you to the work of ACT in particular?
  • What of your skills and experience makes you a suitable candidate?
  • Can you give an example of how you have applied your Christian faith in your work?
