Trustee Treasurer

BeaconLight Trust is seeking to appoint a Treasurer with appropriate skills and experience to join our Board of Trustees.

We are keen to hear from committed Christians, who have a heart for evangelism and overseas mission.  The appointed person needs to be based in the United Kingdom and accessible to Surrey/Sussex.

We are seeking someone with accountancy/banking experience, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation.

The successful applicant will be: 

• able to support our professional bookkeeper using the Xero accounts package.

• able to present financial information to non-finance Board members enabling the Board to develop a suitable financial strategy. 

• competent in using Microsoft packages.

Trustees play an active role in governing the charity, setting vision, strategic priorities, and ensuring the charity complies with legal, charitable, and financial requirements.

The Board meets 5 times a year.

BeaconLight Trust is a Christian Charity, and all the Trustees must promote and safeguard the charitable purposes for which BeaconLight exists.  These purposes are ‘to promote the Christian Faith as determined in the Holy Bible … and the expression of the Christian Faith through a lifestyle consistent with the Holy Bible…’   It is therefore essential that all Board Members are active practising Christians in good fellowship with their own church.
