Through world class research, Cancer Council NSW are improving cancer survival, reducing cancer risk and enhancing quality of life for people affected by cancer.
Reporting to the Trusts and Foundations Lead, the Trusts and Foundations Specialist is responsible for raising vital funds for Cancer Council’s mission through the demonstration of best practice prospecting, grant writing and relationship management.
You will develop compelling and well researched proposals and grant applications tailored to the interest of trusts, foundations, and government to significantly grow the value of the Trusts and Foundations portfolio.
You will drive philanthropic revenue for Cancer Council New South Wales by successfully building and managing an abundant pipeline of ongoing funding opportunities.
Additionally, you will work collaboratively with the mission teams and across the wider organisation to identify and build the case for support which would benefit from engagement with Trusts and Foundations.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders, your work will play a key role in ensuring financial sustainability, creating transformational impact for people affected by cancer.
About YOU
- A proven track record in successful trusts, foundations, and government grant submissions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and compelling business proposals from concept stage to conversion.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, including proactive grant research capabilities.
- A well-developed understanding of the key success factors in grant applications to trusts, foundations and government.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, executive and board members.
- Technical proficiency, including a high level of competency across Microsoft Office suites and a basic understanding of CRM/database.
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline advantageous.
