ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Internews is seeking a Project Coordinator in Tunisia to coordinate the in-country implementation of its projects that aim to create a more inclusive Tunisian society for marginalized racial and ethnic communities and underrepresented and vulnerable groups by countering disinformation and promoting greater diversity in media coverage, as well as equipping Tunisian journalists and media organizations with legal knowledge on shifting Freedom of Expression (FoE) and access to information (A2I) laws. The Project Coordinator in Tunisia, reporting to the Project Manager in Tunisia, will be responsible for day-to-day tasks of the projects on the ground, making sure the projects are on track with the work plan, coordinating with local partners, organizing timely completion of high-quality deliverables, and drafting regular project reports. The Project Coordinator will also work closely with the MENA program team and several teams at Internews headquarters in Washington, D.C. and Arcata, CA which provide high-level technical advice, ensure compliance with Internews and donor policies and regulations, and offer back-stopping support.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:
- Coordinate, implement, and conduct regular monitoring of project activities to ensure project objectives are being met.
- Coordinate with local partners and project beneficiaries.
- Attend and assist in the facilitation of project trainings, in person.
- Prepare monthly reports to supervisor on all Internews projects in execution.
- Assist the Project Manager and activity teams in logistics, organization, on-site activity coordination, planning, and execution.
- Oversee all aspects of project implementation to ensure activities are conducted on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure project is in compliance with all administrative requirements, including Internews and donor regulations.
- Communicate with media beneficiaries about trainings and other programs.
- Support oversight of all partner subgrants in coordination with MENA Regional Subgrants team.
- Support on all PSCs, OSCs, procurements, and other contractual requests.
- Review and process all consultant invoices and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain a tracker for all consultant contracts and payments.
- Conduct regular monitoring of project activities in coordination with the Tunisia MERL Officer and MENA Regional MERL Officer.
- Collect receipts and relevant documents to liaise with Procurement to process participants’ stipends.
- Ensure that project-related issues are well-communicated to the Project Manager in a timely manner and provide solutions/options as applicable.
- Assist with research and other projects as needed or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience including project coordination experience.
- Relevant university degree or equivalent lived/professional experience.
- Knowledge of the Tunisian media landscape and strong expertise in the civil society sector.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills in both English and Arabic. Professional proficiency in French is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and problem-solve in a multicultural, remote work environment.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours as needed to accommodate periodic shifts in workload and colleagues in different time zones.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, reliability, and good time management skills.
- Ability to work well with others, meet deadlines, and respond to changes in priorities.
- Strong sense of teamwork and productivity.
