Job Overview: The Two Generation Education Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the IRC in Atlantas Early Childhood and Family Education programming within the Adult Education Department. The Adult Education Program supports families participating in onsite services with onsite child-watch / childcare as well as presenting family literacy curriculum to both children and their parents to prepare families with the knowledge they will need to be successful upon entering the public school system. The Coordinator will oversee and manage part-time staff specialists, interns, and volunteers as they provide supportive activities for the children in the program and work to promote child development best-practices with parents. The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining effective curricula and teaching practices across program areas. The program expects that both adult and child participants will have basic to intermediate English language proficiency and communicating through interpretation may be required for certain activities. This position will be starting at part-time, non-exempt, 30-hours per week, though with possibility of increased hours in the future, and reports directly to the Adult Education Program Supervisor.
