II. Duties and Requirements
Under the authority of the Chief of Section of Global Citizenship and Peace Education (GCP) and the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist, focal point for hate speech, the contract -holder will contribute to the development and coordination of the Sector’s activities relating to global citizenship education, and more particularly on issues related to addressing antisemitism and racism through education. This includes:
- Supporting the development of educational research, technical guidance and the implementation of capacity-building opportunities for education stakeholders on addressing antisemitism through education. This may include considerations pertaining to Holocaust remembrance & education as well as Holocaust denial & distortion.
- In this context, coordinate, in collaboration with the GCP team, the development of UNESCO publications on the themes of addressing antisemitism in sports education, higher education, formal education, and responses to prejudice, intolerance and discrimination.
- Provide substantive, logistical and administrative support to the organization of a series of sub-regional Ministerial conferences, workshops and dialogues on the topic of addressing antisemitism through education, in close collaboration with the GCP team.
- Supporting work related to addressing racism, prejudice and discrimination through education.
- Supporting fund-raising, including the development of concept note and project proposals.
- Supporting communication (website, social media and other supports), outreach, advocacy, resource mobilization on all above-mentioned activities.
COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in education, social sciences, international relations, or related areas, with strong background on addressing contemporary forms of antisemitism and racism through education.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience, of which preferably 1 year acquired at the international level.
- Previous professional experience in dealing with contemporary antisemitism or prejudice and discrimination through education, education preferably at an international level.

- Proven skills in analysis, organization and coordination, especially in the coordination of events.
- Ability to ensure the accuracy of documents and reports, through research, referencing sources and consultations, with particular attention to details.

- A strong sense of ethics, professional integrity, diplomacy, tact and discretion.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, manage high workloads and tight deadlines, and act flexibly to adjust work schedules and priorities.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience
- Previous professional experience in dealing with contemporary antisemitism or prejudice and discrimination through education, preferably at an international level
- Experience in resource mobilization.
- Experience in event coordination.
- Experience in education programming and/or practice.
Languages
- Knowledge of another official language of UNESCO (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).
