UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women Jordan Country Office supports the Government of Jordan to implement global norms and standards on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Under its Strategic Note for the period 2023-2027, the UN Women Jordan Country office promotes women’s economic empowerment, gender responsive governance and women’s political participation in alignment with the government of Jordan Triple Modernization Agenda; works to advance the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda including through the Jordan National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security (JONAP); and implements a resilience and empowerment model for Syrian refugee women and vulnerable Jordanian women in camps and host communities in support of the Jordan Response Plan (JRP). Working across the humanitarian-peace-development nexus, the country office is implementing and is prioritizing coherence and interlinkages across its projects and programmes and across UN Women’s triple mandate of operational, coordination and normative work.
Reporting to Oasis Model Program Manager, the Field Coordinator (refugee camps) will oversee and monitor the implementation of activities in the four Oasis centers in Zaatari and Azraq Refugees Camps by the UN Women implementing partner, ensure liaison with SRAD and other relevant stakeholders at camp level and represent UN Women in camp level coordination mechanisms.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the Field Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
Provide technical assistance support to Implementing Partner, Syrian refugee women/men and girls/boys and relevant humanitarian actors on gender equality and empowerment of women and girls
Support monitoring, reporting and accountability mechanisms for gender-responsive humanitarian action at camp level in Za’atari and Azraq camps
Contribute to camp-level implementation and monitoring of UN Women’s programme for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in response to the Syrian refugee
Provide technical support and contribute to Inter-Agency/stakeholder coordination on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) in Za’atari and Azraq camps
Provide inputs to advocacy, partnership building, knowledge building and communication efforts to promote gender equality and empowerment of women and girls at camp level in Za’atari and Azraq camps

VI. Recruitment Qualifications
Education and certification:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/ women’s
studies, international development, or a related field is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• A project/program management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in program/project implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, in a humanitarian setting is required
• Experience working in Syrian refugee camps in Jordan and liaising and coordinating with camp authorities and camp coordination mechanisms is required
• Experience working on gender equality and women’s empowerment is required
Language Requirements:
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
