UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Anchored in Agenda 2030 and in line with UN Women’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, UN Women has developed Gender Equality Accelerators (GEAs) as a set of key solutions to address the most pressing challenges for the realization of the human rights of women and girls and the achievement of SDG5. The GEAs are programmatic frameworks that will drive policy coherence and programmatic to ensure transformative impact at scale. They aim to support governments translate global commitments on gender equality into change in national legal frameworks, policies and plans, resource allocation and action.
