UNDP: AI Video Production for the Birds of Lebanon Guidebook – Beirut

Context

Lebanon is home to a rich diversity of bird species, many of which are increasingly threatened by habitat loss and climate change. To promote biodiversity awareness and environmental conservation, UNDP Lebanon is supporting the development of the Birds of Lebanon Guidebook, an educational resource that highlights the country’s avian heritage and encourages greater public engagement in conservation efforts.

To complement the guidebook and expand its outreach, UNDP will develop an AI-generated video showcasing selected bird species and their ecological significance. The video will transform the guidebook’s content into a visually engaging and accessible format for students, educators, environmental organizations, and the wider public, while raising awareness of the essential role birds play in maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting environmental sustainability in Lebanon.

UNDP is seeking an Online Volunteer to support the creation of this video. The volunteer will produce a high-quality AI-generated video that accurately represents the featured bird species and delivers clear, educational, and visually compelling content aligned with the project’s communication, awareness-raising, and conservation objectives. The completed video will serve as an important tool for increasing public understanding of Lebanon’s birdlife and the need to protect biodiversity.

By contributing to this initiative, the volunteer will have the opportunity to:

– Showcase their AI storytelling, creative content development, and visual communication skills through a UNDP-led environmental project.
– Create impactful content for a broad audience interested in biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will develop and produce one AI-generated video of approximately 6 minutes in length based on the Birds of Lebanon Guidebook. The video will showcase selected bird species found in Lebanon, highlighting their ecological significance, conservation status, and role in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

The volunteer will be responsible for developing the storyboard, generating visuals and animations using AI tools, integrating narration and/or subtitles, and ensuring that the content is scientifically accurate, educational, visually engaging, and aligned with UNDP’s communication and conservation objectives.

Expected Deliverables:

– One AI-generated video (approximately 6 minutes long).
– English language version (with subtitles, if applicable).
– Content based on the information provided in the Birds of Lebanon Guidebook.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in:
– AI-based video creation tools and multimedia production
– Strong storytelling and visual communication skills for educational content
– Ability to translate scientific or technical information into engaging visuals
– Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of bird species and ecological information
– Basic knowledge or interest in biodiversity, wildlife, or environmental conservation
