Context

The objective of this assignment is to provide graphic design and video developer support for the development of high-quality, visually engaging, and easily accessible Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for the World Drug Control Day campaign. These materials will effectively convey key messages on drug prevention, treatment, and community-based support.

The IEC materials will be tailored to four distinct target groups: parents, youth aged 19–29, adolescents aged 14–18, and uneducated/illiterate populations.

For parents, the content will be structured as a seven-day thematic series covering as below:
• Day 1: Early Signs of Drug Use;
• Day 2: Effective communication with teenagers;
• Day 3: Peer pressure and the influence of social media;
• Day 4: Building trust within the family;
• Day 5: Distinguishing illusion from reality;
• Day 6: Accessing Help and Support Services;
• Day 7: Strengthening family commitment.

All materials will be designed for dissemination through the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) website and social media platforms to ensure wide outreach and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Assistant Resident Representative (Governance) and UNDP Team and in coordination with MOHA, the Online Volunteers will support with:

– Reviewing existing IEC content, messages, and branding guidelines provided by UNDP and MOHA to develop creative concepts and visual layouts for IEC materials tailored to different target groups.
– Volunteers will be chosen for video editing basis their background and motivation statement and will support with video editing and adaptation for 3 short videos (e.g., updating text and voice-over).
– Graphic Design volunteers will be asked to design 5 visually engaging IEC products in line with the agreed upon design concepts. These may include mediums such as posters, banners, leaflets, brochures, social media cards (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X), and infographics.

All volunteers will be asked to:
– Ensure materials are youth-friendly, culturally sensitive, gender-responsive, and accessible, easy to read/understand
-Translate key messages into strong visual communication that is easy to understand for diverse audiences, including non-literate groups
-Integrate UNDP and MOHA logos and ensure adherence to UN branding guidelines which will be provided.
– Ensure consistency of design, typography, color schemes, and visual identity across all materials as per UNDP guidelines.
– Incorporate feedback from UNDP and MOHA and revise designs accordingly
– Deliver final outputs in both print-ready and digital formats (editable and PDF versions)

The expected deliverables as below:
1. Initial design concepts for review
2. Draft IEC materials for feedback (minimum 2 rounds of revisions)
3.Finalized IEC materials in print-ready and digital formats, including: High-resolution PDF files, editable source files (AI/PSD/Canva or equivalent), social media optimized versions.

All materials produced will be the intellectual property of UNDP.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in graphic design, visual communication, or multimedia development
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design of IEC, awareness, or public information materials
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Canva
• Experience working with UN agencies, INGOs, or government partners is an advantage
• Strong understanding of visual communication for awareness campaigns
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and incorporate feedback efficiently
