UNDP/PN/2024/07 – To conduct a National Situational Analysis on Volunteerism

Introduction :

The objective of the consultancy is to strengthen national data on volunteerism for policy advocacy, under a qualitative and quantitative review of SDGs areas relevant to volunteerism integration, contributing to national stakeholders and UNCT to ensure adequate situation analysis. 

National situation analysis on volunteering, civic engagement and participation based on the international practices, identifying a normative and policy environment, updated data sets, good practices and volunteer-based organizations which contribute to key SDGs and national development priorities will be prepared. Thus, will be a key input for the VNR preparation and will serve as a baseline for further analysis, planning, implementation of SDGs strategies and response under the 2030 agenda.

The Government of Nepal is embarking on the preparation of the 3rd Voluntary National Review (VNR) Report. The VNR Report of 2017 and 2020 mentioned voluntary evaluators also targeted for SDG progress evaluation and monitoring. The VNR process aims to facilitate the sharing of experiences, including successes, challenges and lessons learned, with a view to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
