UNDP, under the Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes (SELP) project, requires the services of a CSO with an extensive grassroots level network, significant past expertise and adequately resourced with professional, technical and outreach capacity at the grassroots to identify and conduct culturally sensitive project activities in the selected flood affected districts of Sindh and Balochistan to enable women and other marginalized groups obtain their NICs.
The intervention aims to facilitate 25,000 women in 4 districts out of the following 8 districts in Sindh including Jamshoro, Dadu, Badin, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umer Kot, Ghotki and 2 out of the following 3 districts in Balochistan including Sibi, Quetta, Jafferabad two distinct categories. Category one will comprise of women and other marginalized groups who have lost their NICs due to the floods, while category two will comprise of women and other marginalized groups who are yet to acquire their first NIC. The breakdown of the two categories of women and other marginalized groups to be facilitated is expected to be 60/40 respectively. The breakdown may be changed following the initial scoping and the follow-up listing exercise for a more precise distribution of women facilitated by the project in each category. The final districts list will be contingent upon the received proposal.
