The European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Regional Office in Paris, France is accredited to 56 ICAO Contracting States and assists them in the implementation of ICAO’s policies, decisions, Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), regional and global safety, security and air navigation plans. It supports extensive meeting activities, disseminates information and encourages participation in ICAO activities. The Regional Office also provides technical assistance and assists States with implementation.
The incumbent provides support to the Deputy Regional Director and the members of the Technical Team on various subject matters. Specific instructions and directives will be provided by them on special tasks or complex issues.
Supports the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Directors General of Civil Aviation (EUR/NAT DGCA) meetings, as well as technical meetings under the ICAO EUR and NAT structures, as required, in terms of logistical arrangements, documentation and technical material, as well as post follow-up actions, achieving results such as:
Manages and processes updates of the ICAO Five-letter name-code (5LNC) and route designators (ICARD) system, achieving results such as:

Conditions of Employment

It should be noted that this post is to be filled on a fixed-term basis for an initial period of three (3) years (first year is probationary for an external candidate).
ICAO staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the Secretary General and may be assigned to any activities or offices of the Organization within the duty station.
ICAO staff members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting their status as international civil servants. The Standards of Conduct for the International Civil Service adopted by ICAO, which are applicable to all staff members, are defined in the ICAO Service Code (Staff Regulations).

The statutory retirement age for staff entering or re-entering service after 1 January 2014 is 65. For external applicants, only those who are expected to complete a term of appointment will normally be considered.
